Every year our organizations, Young Men-N-Motion; Outreach for Kids; and Inspiring Our Sons provide an opportunity and experience for under privileged youth. I am asking my community to help me support these youth and give them the opportunity that they normally would not receive. On Tuesday, June 25, 2019 to Friday, June 28, 2019, we are taking 30 students on a Cultural Excursion & Mini College Tour to the Historically Black College, Howard University in Washington, D.C. The funds that we were expecting are no longer available and we really need your support at this short notice. The price is $425.00 per student.
Young Men-N-Motion, Inc. was launched in 2006. Due to its success, the program was established as an official 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization in 2011, housed at the Mathis Community Center. I am sure we have had the opportunity to meet you on several occasions while attending events and volunteering in the community. Our Mission/Vision – To provide a housing support program and training for homeless & at risk young men to ease the difficult transition to adulthood.
Our Vision is to empower young men to gain self-discipline, a new work ethic, success and independent living, helping them make the Detroit area a better place to live.
Through mentoring and support, the young men are no longer engaged in at-risk behaviors, and the young men reach out to other young men in the community for the learning experience.
Our young men usually enter our program while they are unmotivated to succeed in middle school or high school. We are pleased to tell you that some of our participants go on to college, some are granted college scholarships, and most are leading very productive lives because of the mentoring, training, ongoing support and resources they receive through the Young Men-N-Motion Mentoring Program.
Our Commitment is: To Support these Young Men-N-Motion and youth in the community with our high standards of excellence in educational and cultural exposure to enhance their career paths, to nurture, provide resources, programming, life skills and basic necessities to overcome the increasing obstacles and negative influences prevalent in today’s culture.
We are self-funded and do not receive any financial support from Federal or local governments. I am asking all members of my community to donate to us to make this Educational and Cultural Experience a life impacting & successful event.
Your support towards this trip to Washington, D.C. on June 25, 2019 to June 28, 2019 will be much appreciated! Your donation is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. All donations collected are for the sole purpose of this endeavor to support these youth. Tax receipts are given upon request. We ask that all commitments be fulfilled by June 20th, 2019, as time is of the essence. I do not want to or have to disappoint our youth.
Thank you in advance for touching/saving the lives of Young Men-N-Motion and helping give back to the community.
Educationally & respectfully yours,
Minnie Davis
